╳Visual essay, typography and identity for “ON THE EDGE OF THE LANDSCAPE COMES THE WORLD” exhibition - Pavilhão Branco, Lisboa.

The Galerias Municipais de Lisboa (EGEAC), in partnership with PORTA33 Contemporary Art Center, invited the Collective of Curators from the Post-Graduate Course in Art Curatorship at NOVA-FCSH- Lisboa to curate an exhibition that explores the specificities of the creative panorama of Madeira by presenting the work from a new generation of artists from this island. The customized lettering is inspired by the idea of fringe/perimeter. The subtle background textures/graphics + the visual essay stem from the concept of rhizome and recall imagined pasts, fictionalised geographies and old maps living parallel to landscapes permanently awoken. The (im)materiality of artistic creation presents itself as an extension of a very specific cultural landscape. Islands are a fusion of land and sea, oscillating permanently between the notions of island-paradise and island-prison. A site where the human and the natural relate to each other differently.
