The undead heroine of IT LASTS FOREVER AND THEN IT’S OVER roams the afterlife. Adrift, focused and observant. Always heading towards the ocean, longing to remember the life that she previously had. A self-aware zombie narrating the end of herself and the world. The bulking landscape of my island Madeira, with it’s black sands and pebble beaches transported you to an post human planet. Nature ever present, untamed, everlasting. But it’s over. Paths and mountains now have gates and QR codes. 4x4 hybrids roar deep in the enchanted forests. The harbour hosts a never endind stream of floating suburbias. Overcrowding tourist congestion. Oligarchies with endless funds and concrete. IT LASTS FOREVER AND THEN IT’S OVER is a series of motion image elements, (the now) collated into static images, (the then). ©SC2026
